This mystery was solved after chapter 1058 revealed that Mihawk and Crocodile wanted Buggy to be the target for the brunt of the Marines. While the main discussions were about Mihawk and Crocodile, there was a bigger and more important meeting taking place in the Kamabakka Kingdom. After the Revolutionary Army was driven out of their base, they were forced to flee to the Kamabakka Kingdom, Ivankov’s homeland. The Revolutionary Army could finally breathe a sigh of relief as their commanders were back. On the final page of the chapter, a transponder snail was ringing and as Koala picked it up, the voice on the other end confirmed it was Sabo. With tensions running high, the important question is, did Sabo really kill Nefertari Cobra?

Invasion To Save A Comrade

When Sabo saw the plight of Bartholomew Kuma, he decided to invade the Holy Land of Mary Geoise and bring back his friend. Sabo was accompanied by the other commanders of the Revolutionary Army. Eventually, the members of the Revolutionary Army ran into Admiral Fujitora and Ryokugyu. For a long time, the outcome of this fight remained unknown, and on several occasions, Oda insinuated that Sabo might have been captured or, worse, executed.

All these fears proved to be wrong as the news confirmed that the Revolutionary Army had successfully fended off the Marines and retrieved Kuma. This increased Sabo’s popularity further and people gave him the title of “Flame Emperor.” Sabo’s growing reputation has caused the World Government to take him very seriously, and if his growth is left unchecked, they could be in serious trouble.

The Bad News

The news about Revolutionary Army’s success definitely pleased Dragon and co. but the newspaper had another headline, which was rather troubling. According to the news, Sabo killed Nerfetari Cobra, the ruler of Alabasta, who was present at the Levely. This particular bit of information infuriated Dragon, and he told Koala that despite Sabo’s heroics if he had actually killed Cobra, there will be problems between them. After making his stand clear, Dragon confronted Kuma and asked him about what he had seen. Just before the chapter ended, Sabo called the transponder snail in the Kamabakka Kingdom and Koala picked up. The Marines were already on their toes and as soon the snail rang, they got their men to trace the call.

The killing of an innocent individual is totally out of Sabo’s character. It won’t be a stretch to call him the kindest of his brothers. Sabo has always tried to protect helpless people, which is why it doesn’t make sense why Sabo would want to attack someone like Cobra. There is no connection between the two, and it sounds like a cover-up by the World Government for their own actions. So, it is possible that the Five Elders used this opportunity to get rid of Cobra and the rest of the Nefertari Family, and they found an easy person to blame in Sabo. The Five Elders know that this news could also cause problems between Sabo and the rest of the Revolutionary Army.

Where Is Vivi?

Vivi visited Mary Geoise along with her father, but her current whereabouts remain unknown. She could have either been captured by the Five Elders or she might have been rescued by Sabo. During the Levely arc, Vivi and Rebecca were together, and they talked about their experiences involving the Straw Hat Pirates.

Sabo knows about Rebecca, and if he saw her being friendly with Vivi, it would be bizarre that he would try to kidnap or hurt Vivi. It would make more sense if Sabo stayed behind to rescue Vivi from the clutches of the World Government. There is no doubt that Im holds some kind of interest in Vivi, as he was previously seen holding a picture of Vivi, which heavily suggested that he felt threatened by her.

What If Sabo Did Kill Cobra?

Sabo killing Cobra is a very unlikely scenario. The chief of staff of the Revolutionary Army has no reason to go after Cobra. However, if he did stain his hands with the blood of the King of Alabasta, then Sabo’s reputation would definitely take a hit. The Revolutionary Army will shun him, and he will be left to his own devices. So, it will be bad for Sabo.

While the Revolutionary Army lose their number two, they now Kuma, who can provide Dragon with sensitive information that could potentially lead to the downfall of the World Government. Either way, the next chapter promises to be another masterpiece as Oda will disclose more information about Sabo’s whereabouts and what role Sabo played in Cobra’s death and Vivi’s disappearance.
