One Piece 1064 dropped officially earlier today and fans were treated to what was a chapter of incredible fights and shocking reveals. As expected the majority of the chapter focused on the events of Egghead Island, along with a decent focus thrown on the fight between Trafalgar Law and Yonko Blackbeard as well

While some fans feared that Oda might go ahead and off-panel the fight between the two powerhouses, that did not end up being the case as the chapter began with the titans clashing in the New World, before taking the focus to Egghead, where more interesting revelations were made. That, and much more was tackled in this week’s One Piece chapter.

Law And Blackbeard Clash

Trafalgar Law was previously seen being confronted by Yonko Blackbeard in the last chapter of One Piece and, thankfully, this chapter picked up from where the last one left off. Law, being the underdog, went all guns firing and showed off his awakened Devil Fruit powers once again. This also proved to be a subtle yet great indication that he is now getting used to his Devil Fruit awakening. With the power of R-Room, he was able to take out Stronger and Doc Q in a single go, and then with KROOM, fans saw him deliver a lethal Shockwille to Blackbeard, the same one that Big Mom was on the receiving end of in Wano. Expectedly, this did a tremendous amount of damage to Blackbeard, who needed his crew to bail him out of the situation.

Meanwhile, Law’s crew, for the very first time, were seen being useful in fights. Fans were already aware of Bepo and Jean Bart being adept at fighting from their brief show-off on Sabaody Archipelago, however, Sachi and Penguin stepped in during this chapter as well, which just goes to show that Law’s crew is adept at fighting as well. It’s safe to say that the combat section of the chapter was nothing short of incredible. At the same time, fans also got to see the resilience that Blackbeard is known for. He was able to brush off Law’s attacks and intends to continue fighting, meaning one of the two will eventually fall in combat here.

The Adventure On Egghead Continues

One Piece 1064 saw the adventure on Egghead Island continue. In the previous chapter, fans saw Kuma attack Luffy’s group and this chapter saw them escape to safety, thanks to the Devil Fruit powers of Jewelry Bonney. By manipulating everyone’s ages, Bonney was able to sneak past Kuma undetected. A little more information on Bartholomew Kuma’s past was also given to the fans. It was once again mentioned that Kuma was once a tyrannical King, something that was first alluded to by Oda back in Thriller Bark.

However, this chapter added that the people of Sorbet Kingdom eventually drove him out of the country and that’s when he joined the Revolutionary Army. Later, he was captured by the Navy and sentenced to life. However, due to him being from a group of “Special People,” Kuma was allowed to live and in exchange, he had to give his body up to the Navy for experiments. That is how Kuma was eventually turned into a Pacifista. Expectedly, Bonney believes that her father was not a tyrannical monster and there is suddenly more to this that Oda will explore as the arc moves forward. Even Sabo has previously mentioned Kuma to be quite a kind person. As such, it is highly likely for there to be some kind of web of lies spun around him.

Vegapunk And Dragon

At the same time, the other half of the Straw Hat Pirates were shown around by Vegapunk as they went closer to the main laboratory. Being quite high up in the clouds, it was a nice callback to the Sky Island Saga and fans would certainly have enjoyed that. Getting to the top, Zoro and Brook both decided to stay on the ship to guard it. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew, now led by Sanji, head towards Dr. Vegapunk. While fans did not get to see that plot advance, Shaka, Vegapunk 01, Was seen talking to none other than the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon.

It is beyond any doubt now that Vegapunk has connections to the Revolutionary Army and might even be allied with them secretly. Being the smartest and the most knowledgeable person in One Piece, Vegapunk stated that his death was edging closer, meaning that he definitely won’t get to live long. Whether the CP0 will be the ones to kill him or he meets his end in some other way will be interesting to see. Before that, however, all the secrets that Vegapunk has uncovered over the years will surely be made known to the fans, most likely in this arc.
