As such, these fruits are best suited for hand-to-hand combat, making them extremely useful. The Zoan class is extremely underrated and includes some of the strongest Devil Fruits to ever exist in the entire story.
Updated on January 14, 2022, by Rei Penber: With the ongoing Wano Country arc, One Piece fans have been given a much deeper dive into the Zoan class of Devil Fruits. As such, several new fruits were revealed to the fans, ranging from the weak SMILEs to powerful Ancient Zoans and even new Mythical Zoans. Given that there are so many powerful Zoan Devil Fruits in the arc, we decided to expand upon the list by adding four more unbelievably powerful abilities.
14 Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Allosaurus
The Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Allosaurus was first introduced during the Sabaody Archipelago arc of the story through its user, X Drake, who is also a member of the Worst Generation. It wasn’t named properly until the Wano Country arc.
This Devil Fruit allows Drake to turn himself into an Allosaurus and its hybrid at will. Being an Ancient Zoan, Drake’s recovery rate is incredibly high, as is his strength and speed. In his hybrid form his was able to take down one of the Numbers of the Beasts Pirates in a single blow — a feat that Luffy used Gear Fourth to perform.
13 Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pachycephalosaurus
Another Ryu Ryu no Mi Devil Fruit, the Ancient Zoan Pachycephalosaurus ability belongs to Ulti, one of the members of the Tobiroppo under Kaido. This power allows her to transform herself into a Pachycephalosaurus and its hybrid at will.

Just like a Pachycephalosaurus, Ulti makes great use of her head, and her strongest attacks see her headbutt her targets with great ferocity. At the same time, Ulti has more than impressive endurance, as seen when she took countless blows in Wano only to get back up almost every time.
12 Kumo Kumo no Mi, Model: Rosamygale Grauvogeli
The Kumo Kumo no Mi, Model: Rosamygale Grauvogeli was eaten by none other than Black Maria, another member of the mighty Tobiroppo of Kaido. This Devil Fruit gives her the ability to turn into a hybrid of the ancient spider named Rosamygale Grauvogeli. Black Maria’s hybrid form is quite different from the rest as just the lower half of her body is turned into a spider. This is because she took a drug to stop it from affecting her entire body.
Nonetheless, it is quite a powerful ability that allows her to produce incredibly tough webs that nobody can break free out of. These webs are also flammable, giving her more options in battle. On top of everything, this Devil Fruit also gives her the ability to poison her enemies.
11 Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Saber Tiger
The Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Saber Tiger belongs to one of the strongest members of the Tobiroppo of the Beasts Pirates, Who’s Who. This ability is quite powerful and it allows him to transform himself into a giant saber-toothed cat and a human-cat hybrid at will.
Being a carnivorous Ancient Zoan type, the physical boost that this Devil Fruit grants is immense, and when combined with the power of Haki and Rokushiki, it makes Who’s Who quite capable in battle.
10 Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth
The Zou Zou no Mi is an incredibly powerful Zoan type Devil Fruit that was eaten by one of Kaido’s three right-hand men, Jack the Drought. This Devil Fruit gives him the power to turn into a Mammoth at will and makes him extremely strong and resilient. Using its power, Jack was able to fight Inuarashi and Nekomamushi for days without tiring.
Recently, he has tapped into its hybrid form, and it certainly gives him a massive boost in strength.
9 Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Brachiosaurus
Eaten by another one of Kaido’s three right-hand men, Queen the Plague, the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Brachiosaurus grants the power to turn into a Brachiosaurus and its hybrid at will. This Devil Fruit offers incredible resilience, as seen when Queen was able to tank attacks from Big Mom.
Furthermore, the offensive power that it grants is equally impressive. Queen was able to do some damage to Big Mom using his Brachio Bomber and even hold his own against Marco the Phoenix for quite a long time.
8 Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pteranodon
The Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pteranodon belongs to Kaido’s strongest right-hand man, King the Wildfire. This Devil Fruit is incredibly rare, being one of the very few to grant the powers of flight. The Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pteranodon grants great speed and power.
King was able to knock down the Queen Mama Chanter using its power. What’s more, he could also fight Marco the Phoenix for some time, thanks to this fruit.
7 Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune
The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune is a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit, making it even rarer than the Logias in the One Piece world. Although its true powers haven’t been seen yet, it goes without saying that it offers a tremendous upgrade.

Along with the standard physical boost that comes with this Devil Fruit, it also lets the user take the appearance of other people, as seen when its current user, Catarina Devon, took Absalom’s appearance after killing him. In the future, its true powers will be explored further.
6 Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Yamata no Orochi
The Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Yamata no Orochi was eaten by none other than Kurozumi Orochi, the Shogun of Wano. Although Orochi is quite a weak character, this Devil Fruit is anything but weak. As a Mythical Zoan, it offers the user to ability to become an eight-headed serpent and its hybrid at will.
What’s more, the user gains eight lives instead of one, making it incredibly useful. While Orochi’s usage of this Devil Fruit is very poor, with someone stronger, it could become one of the strongest fruits out there.
5 Momonosuke’s Artificial Devil Fruit
Momonosuke ate the Artificial Devil Fruit that Vegapunk created on Punk Hazard which gave him the powers to turn into a dragon at will. Although the fruit was deemed a failure, it doesn’t have any showings of one as it mimics Kaido’s powers perfectly.
After turning into an adult, Momonosuke can use its powers far better than before. While it hasn’t been seen in combat yet, being a replica of Kaido’s power makes it extremely powerful.
4 Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu
One of the Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruits, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu was eaten by Sengoku, the former Fleet Admiral of the Marines. This fruit gave him the power to turn into a giant Buddha at will.

The most fearsome power of this fruit is its ability to emit shockwaves, which makes it unique. On Marineford, Sengoku was able to take on the Blackbeard Pirates with its powers with little trouble. The full extent of its abilities hasn’t been shown to the fans just yet, however, it’s certainly one of the strongest fruits in existence.
3 Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami
Eaten by Kaido’s son, Yamato, this Devil Fruit allows him to transform into a mythological wolf deity known as Okuchi no Makami. Its powers are certainly great as, according to Kaido, it is a very special fruit that he had to go to great lengths to acquire.
This Devil Fruit gave Yamato the power to put up a fight against Kaido in his hybrid form, which is rather impressive. Furthermore, it also grants the ability to use glacial attacks, such as Namuji Hyoga.
2 Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix
The Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix is one of the most powerful Zoans in the story and it was eaten by the former First Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco. This Devil Fruit grants the incredible power to turn into a Phoenix and heal from any damage taken in battle.
Using the Blue Flames of Resurrection, Marco is almost invincible in battle and he can also heal those around him, however, the effects of this power are limited on others. It gave Marco the power to hold his own against all Three Admirals in battle, and on Onigashima, he took on both King and Queen at once.
1 Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu
The Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu is quite easily the strongest Zoan Devil Fruit in the story so far. It was eaten by none other than Kaido, one of the Four Emperors, following the major battle on God Valley, 38 years ago. This Devil Fruit grants him the ability to turn into an eastern dragon and its hybrid at will.
It also gives Kaido an incredibly thick skin that only few can penetrate. The magnificent powers of this fruit have made him a menace and it goes down as the strongest in the story without much contest.
